What are combo brows?
Combo brows are a combination of two semi-permanent techniques: microblading and powder brows which is also called shading. Microblading is where hair-like strokes are placed with a manual tool to give the brow a natural look. The powder effect is applied to the body of the brow using a device to give the brow its fullness and shading.
Does the procedure hurt?​
There is some discomfort with the procedure itself, however numbing agents are utilized during the session. As the session progresses, it becomes less uncomfortable. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Most of my clients rate the pain 0-3 on a scale of 1-10.
How long does the appointment take?
About 1-2 hours depending on various factors. The appointment includes the consultation, education, photos, mapping out the brows, procedure itself, and aftercare teaching.
How long does the healing process take?
​As with everything else; everyone is slightly different. The general process will take about 1-2 weeks; brows look their best by week 4 in most cases. The day of the procedure the client may have some redness and irritation at the sites. The brows will appear darker through day 3 (this is normal); the color will then soften for a more natural appearance by about the one-week mark. Clients will most likely experience flaking and potentially scabbing. Scabbing is not ideal and will extend healing time. Risk of scabbing increases with not following aftercare instructions fully (Ex: getting them wet for too long, sweating, etc.). Sometimes the color will appear to be fading in only certain areas; after the healing this color ‘returns’ for a more even distribution. Trust the process and let the healing take place for a full 2 weeks before determining if you need a touch-up session.
Is the consultation appointment separate?
The consultation is included in your appointment; however, if after your consultation you decide not to proceed with the procedure there is no cost currently.
What if I have an upcoming event, how long in advance should I schedule?
Clients should never schedule within two weeks of any event. Ideally 6-9 weeks in advance is best to allow time for healing and then be able to also have time for a touch-up session with healing from that appointment if needed.
What if I had microblading or shading done elsewhere, what type of appointment would I be?
Even if previous cosmetic tattooing has been done, all clients being seen by Bare Beauty Bliss for the first time will be considered an initial visit.
